I recently modified the stock exhaust on my Savage
and the sound is really awesome. It's hard to describe
how "deep" it is because everyones definition of deep
is different. Although I have recieved alot of comments
on the bikes sound. I took the stock exhaust off and punched a
nickel size hole through it from exhaust end to the front,
this didn't do a whole lot, then I drilled 6- 1/2" holes
in the exhaust end around the original exhaust outlet. I drilled
them in a nice pattern, filed them and painted with
high temp paint. It looks like a factory designed pipe and
is a real pleasure to listen to. It was a cheap way
to get a great sound. Good luck in finding "your" sound.
